Warnings and Firefly Cloak Care Instructions

The Firefly should be handled by holding the CLASPS on either end of the collar and placing around the shoulders. The battery pocket should hang flat along the back. When wearing the Firefly, please use the handholds provided instead of grabbing the fur trim directly.  We also suggest asking excited strangers that they do not grab our fur!

First, check to make sure the battery is charged and in the “on” position.   When the battery is charged and on, LEDS on the battery illuminate to indicate the charge status.

Second, check the connection from the battery to power cable, controller and LEDS.  It is not uncommon for the power cable to become disconnected from the battery if there is not enough slack in the power cable through the collar loops.  If this is the problem, readjust LEDS, controller and power cable to ensure there is slack in the power cable between the collar loops.

Third, after checking battery and connections, turn battery off and on to reset the controller.

No.  The lithium-ion TalentCell battery, similar to the one used smart phones and laptops, is not damaged if partially charged.   It does not have a “memory” like the some older rechargeable batteries.

No.  We do not recommend using alternative chargers for the battery pack.  Doing so may cause permanent damage to the battery and shorten its life.

The TalentCell lithium ion battery will only charge if it is in the “on” position.  The LED indicator lights will turn on when the battery is plugged into the charger even if in the “off” position but will not be charging.   Turn battery to “on” position when charging.  A charge is complete when the LED indicator light on the charger turns from red to green.

About 6 – 8 hours

Battery longevity is a product of battery capacity (6000mAh) and power load.   The electrical “load” is extremely dynamic with our controller and LEDS.  Set to mid dimming, slowest speed, on “auto”, the LEDS will stay continually lit for approximately 9 hours.   At the highest power consumption setting - constant white, highest brightness – you can expect just over two and half hours of battery life.   We do not recommend using the LEDS at the highest setting for prolonged periods of time.

First, make sure that the remote controller has its plastic tab protecting the battery completely removed.  

Attempt to cycle through the solid Red, Green and Blue colors.  If unresponsive, click the gear button five times to program the controller to each corresponding color.  When you get to the solid color, click the color button and gear to lock it in.

It is possible that you may have damaged the ABLD LED strip or controller.  ABLD has replacement LEDS on our accessories page for those instances.

Each LED strip has a chip that controls three LEDs at a time.  This chip may become damaged through wear, tear and abuse causing sections of 3 LEDS to become unresponsive.  Replacement LED strips are available in our accessories section.

The slowest speed setting on the cloak pulses to a medium tempo, 4/4 time signature beat and can be adjusted up for a faster time signature.  The lighting effects can be controlled by the user, but there is no listening functionality built into our hardware at this time.
